A few months ago, I got this amazing email. Attached was a picture of my cover.
My. Book’s. Cover. Oh. My. Goodness.
It came while I was at school. I looked at the email, saw the attachment. Stared at it for a while. Thought about opening it. Decided not to. Instead, I called my husband and told him I needed him. As in ten minutes ago. Being the awesome kind of guy he is, he left work, drove all the way across town to meet me in the school lobby, spent two minutes celebrating with me after we opened it together, and went back to work.
I love him.
Problem was, the picture came with the following order: Do Not Distribute This Online.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? I wanted to splash that puppy up every possible place on the internet. Instead, I printed it out and stuck it to my wall.
And I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
It was hard, but I made it. Yesterday, I got another email. An official cover. Wanna see it?
I had no idea what they were going to do with my cover, but wow. Wow. Wow. And… wow. I never dreamed it would look like that. Isn’t it amazing? I think I might be in love.

Jodie,
Congratulations! It’s wonderful. Just wait until you open the box of books they send.
Or you see the book on the shelf for the first time.
What a wonderful thing writing is!

I cannot imagine. I think at that point it will be “real” finally. Right now, I still haven’t grasped it.
