Happy Wednesday! It’s a great day to be alive, isn’t it? (Anybody else feel like busting out in the old Travis Tritt song? No? Okay. I’ll refrain…) II Thessalonians is on tap this week. You ready? I sure am. Next Wednesday we go into I Timothy. Share in the comments what touched you out of Thessalonians. We all love hearing from you!
II Thessalonians 3:3a (NIV)–But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
AMEN! As the world grows increasingly depraved (And it does, doesn’t it? I was actually disgusted by prime time TV on Monday night), as we draw nearer to the end, as evil seems to be gaining the upper hand, isn’t it good to know, good to be reminded that evil can never win? No matter what, God is still in charge. He will always be bigger.
And He will always protect us. Always. It might seem like life is going to crush us and all of the bad is going to cut us right in two, but it won’t. It can’t. God won’t allow it. (Hear that? He won’t allow it. Let that sink in!) No matter what happens on this earth, we ultimately have heaven waiting, and in heaven, Christ has given us the ultimate victory, the ultimate life.
It’s easy to get focused on what we see and to forget about what we can’t see. It’s easy to see defeat in this world as defeat forever, but there is only an epic, eternal win for us in Christ. He guards us, the apple of His eye. I needed to hear that today, needed to be reminded that my God is always on my side and always watches over me, no matter how crazy the world gets.
Again, amen?
It’s a great day to be alive. Get out and enjoy it! 🙂

Well, this week, I think it’s unavoidable to share the same verse as Jodie. I re-read this book again to see if there was something else that really struck me, and this was it over and over again.
3:3 – But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
This verse is so comforting and encouraging. When things are tough and don’t seem to be going the way we want them too, we often forget that God is faithful. Just because we don’t like how something is going at a particular moment or things are hard, our brains seem to stop working and we forget that God is there. He keeps his Word always. He will work out everything for good. Even if we don’t see it right away, or even if we never see it, he will take bad things that happen and turn them to good.
With the way the crazy world is going these days, I am excited to know that I have ultimate protection from the evil one. And no matter what, I am covered and protected. I will be made strong in my weakness because God said so!

Amen to your last sentence. I look at the world and it sort of scares me. It makes me feel like everything–including me–is out of control. Then I have to take a deep breath and remember that nothing, nothing, nothing surprises God.
