I used to be a teacher. For seven years, I taught in Christian school and thought I’d never leave. Then, one day, God said it was time to go. Know what I did? I gave it some thought and said, “Okay, God. If you want me to quit, you’re going to have to prove it to me.”
Never, ever, ever, EVER do that.
God proved it to me. He proved it to me in a big ol’ ugly way. By the end of that school year, I got it. He really meant it when He said He wanted me to walk away.
Funny thing is, in the middle of that year, my husband and I found out we were going to have a little girl. After a lot of prayer, we made the decision that I would leave teaching to stay at home with her. (I think God smacked Himself in the head and said, “Duh” that day.)
Want to hear the funny part? She was born ten days late… And she was born on the first day of the school year. I think God laughed at that. It was almost possible to hear Him say, “Oh, honey, your teaching days have only just begun.”
Happy Birthday to the most precious Monkey Moo in the whole world. Believe you me, she’s going to get a huge kick out of being Mommy’s blog post for the day. 🙂
