Well, hello, Wednesday! Here you are again. And with you, you bring our last week in the book of Psalms. I’m going to miss this book, but next week in Proverbs promises to be even more rewarding. Were you able to choose a favorite from Psalms 128-150? Share it in the comments below or blog about it yourself and drop a link so we can find you. Ready for mine?
Psalm 147: 5b–His understanding is infinite.
Know what? Every time I think I’ve found the most amazing thing to find about God, He shows me something else. I mean, honestly… Look at that verse. Isn’t that all we need to say? A whole lot about God is condensed in those few little words. It’s an amazing comfort to me that, no matter what I’m going through, no matter how badly I mess up, God understands. Not only does He understand, but He gets it even more than I do! My understanding is definitely finite.
I mean, try to grasp that. Infinite understanding. Infinite knowing. Couple that with infinite grace and you have more than my brain can wrap it’s little ol’ self around. Doesn’t it make you want to stop right where you are and shout about how awesome He is?
Then think about this… He not only understands on his infinite level, He understands on our finite level. Isn’t that one of the reasons Jesus came as a man? To show us He has been there, done that, and He’s got it? Incredible. The Maker of All Things, the Almighty, the great I AM wanted us to know beyond all doubt that He is right here with us, fully acquainted with our everyday lives. It doesn’t get much better than that.
